Did you know that volunteering just one hour of your time at Ozarks Food Harvest in Springfield, Missouri helps to provide 105 meals to individuals in need? Ozarks Food Harvest is the only food bank in southwest Missouri, serving more than 300 nonprofit members across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank reaches more than 20,000 individuals weekly and distributes one million pounds of food monthly —this would not be possible without generous volunteers like YOU!
Whether you can give a few hours monthly, or commit to a weekly schedule, your gift of time helps Transform Hunger into Hope for Children, Families and Seniors in need.
The greatest need for volunteers is to help process food donations. Sort & Repack projects involve checking expiration dates, sorting like items, and repacking for distribution. Food safety training is provided at the beginning of the session. Volunteer projects may vary based upon The Food Bank’s current needs.
All volunteer sessions must be scheduled in advance. New volunteers can submit a Volunteer Application to join the community. Returning volunteers must go to the Volunteer Login to schedule sessions and manage volunteer information.
