TRANSFORMING HUNGER INTO HOPE™

Host a Food Drive

YOUR DONATION HELPS FEED MORE THAN 41,000 PEOPLE IN NEED ACROSS THE OZARKS EVERY MONTH.

For twenty-five years, Ozarks Food Harvest has relied on people like you to help feed those who don’t have enough money for one of life's most basic necessities—food. Approximately 164,000 people in the Ozarks are at risk of going hungry — the majority of whom are women and children, seniors and the working poor — your food donations from food drives are critical all year long! Download a poster for your food drive here.

Most Needed Food Items
• Canned meats (tuna, chicken and salmon)
• Canned and boxed foods (soup, chili, stew, macaroni and cheese)
• Peanut butter
• Canned or dried beans and peas (black, pinto and lentils)
• Pasta and rice
• Canned fruits
• Cereal
• 100% fruit juice (canned, plastic or boxed)

Creative ideas
• Create teams within your organization, and have a contest for the team that donates the most food! It is easy to inspire some friendly competition with prizes or incentives. Incentive ideas for the winning team could be dress-down days, movie passes, pizza parties, ice cream socials, etc.
• Create donated food theme days like “Macaroni Mondays” or “Tuna Tuesdays” or exchange “Beans for Jeans” by allowing employees to wear jeans in exchange for a contribution.
• Place a cash donation bank by the soda machine for spare change. (You can collect monetary donations for The Food Bank during your food drives so Ozarks Food Harvest can purchase food items at a discounted bulk rate!)
• Pass out brown lunch bags to participants – the bag returned with the highest nutritional value wins!
• Bring in weekly sale ads from supermarket, and send selected teams shopping.
• Brainstorm and come up with your own ideas – original ideas are the best!

Ozarks Food Harvest has food collection boxes available that fold flat for easy storage – pop them open, tape the bottom, and you’re ready to start filling them up. The boxes are sized to be easy to carry when full of food items. We also have 40 gallon barrels or small totes available at The Food Bank for larger food drives.

You can pick up food collection boxes or barrels anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at our warehouse located at 615 N. Glenstone (at the corner of Glenstone and Chestnut Expressway).
Saving Ozarks Food Harvest the delivery or pick up of your food drive is equivalent to making an additional donation. If this isn’t feasible for your organization, The Food Bank will gladly pick up your donation.
