TRANSFORMING HUNGER INTO HOPE™

Our Mission

Transforming Hunger Into Hope™

Ozarks Food Harvest-The Food Bank-collects food and distributes it to a network of more than 340 agencies such as shelters, soup kitchens, senior centers, pantries and daycares. These hunger relief organizations serve poverty stricken children, working poor, families and seniors.

Donated food is unloaded and stored at Ozarks Food Harvest’s warehouse.   Charitable programs come to The Food Bank to select food or OFH delivers it to them.   Hunger relief agencies give food to those in need.

The Food Bank distributes nearly five million pounds of food annually to 29 southwest Missouri counties – reaching more than 41,000 people every month. In addition to food distribution, Ozarks Food Harvest offers direct relief through its Kids Cafe®, Food for Thought™, Club F.U.N.™ and Mobile Food Pantry™ programs.

Ozarks Food Harvest does more than feed the hungry. The Food Bank is Transforming Hunger into Hope™ for thousands of people in the Ozarks.

Ozarks Food Harvest was founded in 1983 as a joint project of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks and the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging. The Food Bank was separately incorporated in order to qualify for membership in America’s Second Harvest, the nation’s food bank network. Since 1989, Ozarks Food Harvest has been an independent, self-funded and governed 501(c)3 organization.
